Is this product only able to be used when plugged in?
Yes. You have to plug it into the 12V socket located in your car near the gear shifter for most cars.
Is this product able to be used at home?
Yes. However ordinary plugs will not work. You need to get a 12V 3A DC adaptor that supports 5.5mm x 2.1 or 5.5 x 2.5mm power inlet. Otherwise this product would only be able to be used in the car.
